CO.UK is a country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United Kingdom and managed by Nominet registry.

Key Points

Nominet discontinued the contact privacy service on all UK TLDs. Therefore, the contact privacy option is not available for .co.uk TLD.
Auto renewal option available. If your domain needs to renew automatically check the auto renewal option (recommended).

3. Fill out the UK TLDs additional requirement.

Some ccTLD requires additional information for domain registration. UK TLD requires the following information.

Registrant Type – required

Trading Name – (requires based on registrant type)

Registration Number – (requires based on registrant type)

4. Update the contact information (personal/company/billing)

Key Points

The co.uk does not require specific residency to register a domain. The UK domain has specific residency requirements (eg: address must be UK residency). But co.uk does not have such requirements. Therefore, anyone can register this second level domain.
Personal information will be the domain registrant information. Therefore make sure to give valid contact information. Eg: Address 1 must contain characters and providing only numbers will be invalid.

5. Make the payment.

After the payment success go to Domains side menu and check your domain status is “Active”. If the domain status shows “Processing” please contact the support team for more information.

If domain status is “Waiting” please retry the domain registration with valid information (contact/additionals).

Until domain status is “Active” domain not owned by the registration. Therefore, to avoid failed domain registration make sure to provide valid information (contact/additional/payment) during the checkout.

Registrant verification email.

Nominent (UK registry) only sent registrant verification email for registrant when registry could not verify or find given contact information anywhere. (Nominent using third party sources to verify the registrant information). Otherwise registrant will not get any registrant verification emails ( which means its already verified)
